Donegal, Ulster, in Ireland

I have just returned from a lovely family holiday in Downings (sometimes Downies or more correctly Na Dúnaibh in Gaelic)  in Donegal.

The small seaside town of Downings is in the Rosguill Peninsula of North Donegal and we were staying on the famous “Atlantic drive” with a great view towards Horn Head and Tory Island.  Lots of opportunities to paint some watercolours which although all done quickly will be  references for more studio paintings.

We were lucky there with the weather too, as it can often be rather wet in this north west corner of Ireland.

Here are a weeks worth of paintings showing some of the scenery and the beautiful sandy beaches, although the sea is rather cold there!

A quiet and relaxing holiday destination, with stunning scenery.
