My new website!

Ile de la Cite from a river cruise in Paris

Ile de la Cite from a river cruise in Paris. Now for sale on http://www.brianswatercolours.com

Hi Everybody.

At last I have decided to open a personal website where my paintings can be viewed and purchased. I have been thinking about it for some time but only now have I got organised enough to have the site set up.

This past year I have sold a few paintings and received a few commissions for paintings of customer’s favourite scenes.

So the new site brings together these two aims, one to paint watercolours for people of places they have visited, and secondly to display a number of artworks that can be purchased from me of places that I have visited and painted watercolours of.

The new site can be found at

http://www.brianswatercolours.com.

I hope you will enjoy looking at it as well as continuing to look at this blog which of course will continue!

I really do appreciate all the support from friends, followers and readers alike and I hope you will enjoy both sites in the future.

Happy travelling, photographing and painting!

Sketches in The Dordogne and Tuscany

Hi Everybody
Thanks for following my posts, your comments are always most welcome.

We recently drove through France, visiting friends and eventually driving to Tuscany for few days.
In a few quiet moments I managed to paint some quick sketches of The Dordogne, Lot et Garonne and the area around San Gimignano in Tuscany.
We found a lovely Agriturismo to stay at, within sight of San Gimignano, call La Lucciolaia, which we would highly recommend if you are staying in that area.
I hope these will form the basis for more studio paintings later in the year, but in the meantime I hope you enjoy looking at them.
Tuscany is beautiful place for painting with blue skies, warm weather and lovely old towns and cities.
Enjoy your travels wherever you may be.

Recently a friend and very talented artist, Peter Robson, gave a workshop which included ideas for silhouette paintings. I have tried it here with the view of Dome in the Dordogne from our hotel. Thanks Peter!

Monpazier

Monpazier is a Bastide town in the Lot and Garonne region of France, well worth a visit.

Travelling in California

We have been lucky enough to visit many golf courses around the world. This spring we are golfing in San Diego and in between rounds I have managed to find a little time for some painting. So here are two paintings of the Grand Del Mar course, and a few others of California.

While we were there it was the Masters weekend  at Augusta and although we were not there I thought a quick watercolour of the famous 12th hole might be good so it is here too.

Our travels in California took us to la Jolla and Carmel and these two paintings show a little of the beauty of these coastal areas.

Before travelling home we spent two wonderful days in Yosemite national park and then a day in the Napa Valley and lastly San Francisco.

I hope you enjoy them to look at as much as we did in visiting such beautiful places, and for me painting them as a reminder of our journey.

More to come over the next few weeks I hope.
